McCully View Wood Notions tries to use natural beautiful wood to make useful furniture. We like to think we do that without messing up the natural beauty of the wood too much.
The furniture we make is a side project for our two portable sawmills. If you are interested, we also sell the wood for you to make your own furniture.
We will also provide advice and some level of support to assist you.
You don't need a lot of expensive equipment for a single project or two; you can start small. We can cut the raw material to size for you, and with a sander, drill, maybe a grinder and a saw, you can do quite a bit.
For the finish, there are a lot of options, and we can give you advice on the different choices.
We are working on a couple video presentations that can give an overview of how to proceed.

Our benches are designed for use, but also for looks. We try to use live edge both sides when possible. Since each bench is made from available wood, no two are alike. They are available in a variety of heights and leg styles (most of the legs are metal). This simplicity lets us highlight the natural beauty of the wood.

The oak for this table is from a filbert farm in Monmouth, Oregon. The top has a lot of different detail; a beautiful addition to your home.

The cedar top and rail is from Mountaindale, Oregon. The redwood legs are from a farm near Carlton, Oregon.
Our tables, like our benches, are made with the primary purpose of being useful. There is no reason they can't also be beautiful.

This rustic table is beautifully detailed. The saw marks from cutting the slab still show in some places. The slab was left exposed to darken the wood before finishing, and there are some areas of spalt which have been stabilized with epoxy. Table is 24" wide (live edge both sides).

This is one of the few items that was not salvage. When we saw this bit of canarywood, we had to give it a home. Natural color.

This table is from a redwood tree removed from a farm in Carlton.
NOTE: If you would like a set of a coffee table and table from one slab, the pair would be $1500 +/-

I've recently acquired a few Sit/Stand bases from MayLine, and I can use them for various different projects. The bases are minimum 48" width. The one displayed here is 17"X60". It will adjust from 30" to 48" height. Other tops are available. The one pictured is a pine top, and sells for $550.

The pine for this table was salvaged near Burney, CA. The Padauk was purchased.
One left (one sold).

The oak for this table came from a farm near Donald, Oregon. The slab warped pretty well during drying, and when I flattened it, a big crack appeared.
Since I see others making river tables, I thought I'd embellish the crack and make a creek table, just for fun.
Our tables, like our benches, are made with the primary purpose of being useful. There is no reason they can't also be beautiful.
